Academy of Hotel Management, NHTV Breda

The English International Hotel Management course, also known as ‘Hoge hotelschool Breda’, is a practice-oriented programme focussing on management, marketing, commercial operations, information and communication technology.

The curriculum is constructed from an innovative perspective based on development of competencies. The concept of ‘action learning’ is at the heart, which means that a great deal of independence and responsibility is expected from the students. Lectures mainly act as coaches. Students have a limited number of supervised classes per week. The remaining hours are dedicated to working independently or in a group on assignments- either school-related or secured from the industry. Theoretical knowledge is directly applied to real-life situations. Students are learning to be resourceful, to take initiatives, to co-operate, to deliberate, to report and to present.

International co-operation
Our international approach offers many opportunities for intensive student and lecturer exchanges with many leading education institutions in the world.

E.g. Universidade do Algarve Portugal, Instituto de Formação China, Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences Finland. Students can also go for a Double Degree in Flagstaff USA, Institute for Tourism Studies Macau, Universitat de les Illes Balears Spain and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences Finland.
